After certification, the union submits in writing to the College Employer Council, which represents the 24 Ontario Colleges, the negotiation of the first collective agreement. A collective agreement is a contract that describes the working conditions of all employees. As you may recall, on May 31, 2016, the Ontario Public Service Workers Union (OPSEU) asked the Ontario Labor Council to become the union for all part-time workers (including female students) in the Ontario College system. Your native is always in need of help; You will be a steward, you represent your premises in commissions, participate in events, etc. The Council confirmed that 35.2% of the workers concerned signed cards. We also received advice from the College Employer Council that the majority voted in favour of the MEMBERSHIP of OPSEU and that OPSEU is now officially recognized as a representative of part-time support staff at Ontario colleges. Examples of full-time scientific staff, administrative and support staff contracts can be found on the “Part-Time Boarding Process” page. OpsEU regularly receives applications from members covered by collective agreements across the province to obtain copies of their central contract. The following six links provide easy access and allow you to download a copy of your collective agreement in Adobe format.
A collective agreement is a written contract between an employer and a union that describes many of the conditions of employment of workers in a collective agreement unit. There are two collective agreements that cover members of Algonquin College`s collective agreement unit. The academic collective agreement includes professors, trainers, part-time staff, counselors and librarians. The support staff collective agreement includes all full-time support staff, Schedule D and Schedule G members. You can also contact your staff representative or the nearest regional office to get a copy of your collective agreement. Here is a list of all the regional offices. OPSEU represents workers in too many collective agreement units to provide copies of collective agreements to individual employers on the site. If you can`t find your collective agreement on this page, you can search for it in our private sector – the membership portal. Please log on to the members` portal to verify that your collective agreement has been published for you. Please click on the links below to see active negotiated collective agreements between the parties.
OPSEU now has the exclusive right to represent all part-time assistance officers when it comes to negotiating the working conditions of these employees. We have not been informed by local OPSEU representatives and would suggest that if you have specific questions about this, you would pass them on to the regional offices of OPSEU.
